the only organization in the Denver metro area with
a Board Bank program available to all residents
within the region. We recruit, train and place
qualified individuals who wish to serve on a
nonprofit board of directors.

Nonprofit leaders
and staff gain critical and practical skills in the
areas of volunteer management and board development.
Over 40 workshops are presented each year.
Impact
Program
The Impact
program plans and manages 35 hands-on service
projects each month that connect volunteers to the
community and meet critical needs of nonprofit
organizations. Projects are scheduled in the
evenings and on the weekends; volunteers can
participate as little or as often as time allows.
Event
Partnership/Sponsorship Opportunities Include:
Annual Celebrity Waiter
Dinner
May
Over 300 corporate and community leaders attend
this fundraising dinner each year held at the Westin
Tabor Center Hotel in downtown Denver. Tables are
sponsored by a "Celebrity Waiter" (CEO
types), who dress up in their favorite costume and
with support of hotel staff, act as the table waiter
for their guests. Invited guests tip their waiter
throughout the evening and participate in the live
and silent auction festivities.
Annual Volunteer Fair on
the 16th Street Mall
September
Nearly 30,000 people visit the 16th Street Mall
during the Volunteer Fair. The Fair promotes
awareness of the vast number of nonprofit
organizations in the Denver metro area and educates
residents on community programs, services and
volunteer opportunities.
Inaugural Volunteer
Award Recognition Banquet
September
As the expert resource center on volunteerism in the
metro Denver area, we have decided to recognize one
person each year that embodies the spirit of
volunteerism in the metro Denver area. This event
will draw 300 - 400 of the most influential people
in the region.
Denver Day of Impact
October
Volunteers from across the Denver metro area will
share their time and talents by mending fences,
painting shelters, building trails, feeding the
hungry, and helping those who need it most. In 2005
Metro Volunteers mobilized 300 individuals for this
event including 200 employees from 10 different
companies. As a result, 25 volunteer projects were
completed at 21 different non-profit agencies with
over 1,600 hours of volunteer service given to the
local community.
